10 AEW Stars Who Desperately Need New Gimmicks

Scorpio Sky and Ethan Page are the most WWE Raw act on AEW Dynamite. This has been true since they came together and while the Dan Lambert/American Top Team affliction has added a new flavour to their original recipe, they still aren't getting over to a noticeable degree.

In particular, Sky isn't drawing consistent crowd reactions as TNT Champion. It's a shame, as he's a great wrestler and Lambert branding himself co-champion is a great bit, but worrying. If audiences are already reacting to heel skullduggery and ill-gotten victories with indifference rather than heat, what's the point?

The current presentation of Page and Sky is too overcooked to land. Goofy rather than loathsome, forced rather than natural, they need to find something that suits them better. Lambert, as divisive as his verbiage can be, is the group's most compelling component at the moment.

AEW should at least try to give Scorpio Sky: TNT Champion a chance to get over, though they're swimming against the tide at the moment. Course correction begins with better, more focused character work that isn't so reliant on over-the-top mannerisms and worn-out tropes.
