10 AEW Wrestlers Poised To Break Out In 2021
6. Abadon
Abadon's Dynamite debut was a huge surprise, as her first match on All Elite's Wednesday night show vs. Anny Jay was in fact framed as the coming out party for 'The Star of the Show'. The current Dark Order member was even given the pre-match '... will be in action' graphic, so to then see her mauled by 'The Living Dead Girl' came as quite a shock.
Since then, Abadon has been positioned as a top-level star in AEW's women's division, racking up win after win. Granted, these have been over enhancement talents, but that's precisely how you create a huge deal. Establish them with multiple victories over lesser talent, and then move them up the card.
Of course, the injury suffered by Abadon when she faced Tay Conti was a major setback, and her ongoing Women's World Championship angle with Hikaru Shida hasn't been great, but there's still time to improve for her. She hadn't even officially debuted when AEW was first announced at the start of 2019, so she still requires that extra bit of experience to get herself ready for her break out performance.
Regardless of if she's the one to dethrone Shida or not, expect huge things from 'The Living Dead Girl' come 2021.
