10 AEW Wrestlers That Are Permanently Lost

5. Best Friends

Best Friends persistently feel about a week away from never being featured on an All Elite Wrestling telecast again.

This isn't something that AEW have booked, particularly, but more of a...vibe. Trent and Chuck Taylor are ever-presents on the Dynamite/Rampage rotation but rarely built as threats to titles or top heels. Orange Cassidy's run of late has propelled him beyond the comedic midcard concerns of the outfit. The same could be said for a resurgent Kris Statlander - her loyalties are still rooted in the group but it's clear her target is title contention in the women's division, and linking up with Athena keeps her closer to such a role. Overlaps with New Japan Pro Wrestling's CHAOS stable were far more relevant before Forbidden Door than after.

The stable-based set up AEW has deployed in its booking from the off suits Best Friends more than most - every single or tag team match ensures at least one ally on the outside, and them being funny (if at times charmless) goes a long way too. But at this point, the obvious breakout potential of Cassidy and Statlander looks restrained by the limitations of their surrounds.

Nobody's calling for the end of a beautiful friendship. Merely the end of its representation.
