10 AEW Wrestlers Who Are Almost Unrecognisable Since Debuting
5. QT Marshall
QT Marshall as the Rhodes Family's nepo-puppy seems like a fever dream rather than an 'American Nightmare' when watched back through 2023 eyes, but perhaps that's because QTV's alienated so many fans in such a short space of time that anything would scan as better by comparison.
Marshall had charm, fantastic babyface fire and the innate ability to make himself seem less talented than he actually was in order to shock audiences when he pulled off something cool. But it was also known exactly what role he had behind the scenes in the company, and in an industry where doors are so often opened because of who you know rather than what, the in-ring didn't really matter.
The wrestler/producer was a 'Natural Nightmares' wannabe alongside Dustin Rhodes with heart-eyes for Allie before she embraced being The Bunny forever, before becoming a bargain bin Tony Soprano as the leader of a breakout heel version of the Nightmare Family of trainees that went nowhere and finally settling into the antagonistic leader of the QTV gang.
Ironically, he looks the most television-ready and comfortable he ever has, but the gimmick - specifically the damage its done to the aura of Hobbs - has felt wasteful of the organisation's time and resources.
