10 AEW Wrestlers Who Teamed With WWE Champions

6. Christian Cage

With more than just his entrance music tethering the present to his distant past Christian Cage is once again active and once again looking beyond WWE to celebrate that fact.

And it can't be a complete coincidence that his TNA move in 2006 and surprise arrival in AEW 15 years later both came as best friend Edge stood on the precipice of title supremacy on the other side.

Yes, Cage has noted how the deal with friend Tony Khan seemed to make more sense to him, but it's worth noting all the other times he was marginalised as just another guy by Vince McMahon, especially in contrast to the 'Ultimate Opportunist' and 2021 Royal Rumble winner.

Seeing Edge and Christian team together on a semi-regular basis would have been dream match stuff, but WWE simply didn't have the total package of an offer 'Captain Charisma' required. "Outworking everybody" might be a little ambitious, but he stands a greater chance of hitting his personal goals in a place that won't potentially cover his face with a blue dot.
