This, admittedly, is a difficult entry to justify, but Cody Rhodes truly has earned a run at the top of the company he helped create. Sure, he helped bring legitimacy to the newly founded TNT Championship, but Cody deserves to fight for the mountaintop.
His one shot for the championship came against Christ Jericho at last years Full Gear pay-per-view where if he didn't win that night he would never challenge for the belt again. He ended up losing after MJF threw in the towel and turned his back on his former mentor. Since then, he has held to that stipulation that has been put on it, especially being occupied by Team Taz.
Getting this to happen needs to happen one way, through MJF. Goading him or making him feel so confident that he can beat Cody again, let himself add the stipulation between the two men and give it a different set of stakes to their Revolution. The idea of Cody turning heel and taking that off himself would be pure heat, but beating the man who cost you the chance to go for the top prize sounds like a better alternative.
