10 AEW Wrestlers WWE Should Fear The Most

1. Kenny Omega

Kenny Omega has Cleaned up as many superlatives as Dave Meltzer emissions over the last few, seminal years.

He has set new standards for everything: athleticism, explosive physical timing, and selling. An old, eternal debate has rematerialised on Wrestling Twitter in the wake of the Holy Grail's discovery. Who was the better worker: the technical, faultless storyteller Bret Hart, or the preposterously athletic showman Shawn Michaels?

Kenny Omega is the best of both men, in many respects: an audacious, charismatic entertainment machine who, in his instantly legendary four-match series with Kazuchika Okada, told arguably the most flashy and hermetic masterclass in the history of the industry.

Omega is both draw and genius, where previously the two fields were largely distinct, and when he transposes that genius to the national stage, he threatens to make extinct WWE's halfhearted approach to the Dream Match game. Omega is the consensus best wrestler on the planet, and he is refreshed following the niggling achilles injury and physical burnout he endured throughout his impossibly superb G1 Climax run last year.

This isn't (just) a subjective take; WWE recognised this by purportedly offering him an eye-watering deal earlier this year. Omega is so great that he makes the very good almost normal. Skippable. Being very good is no longer sufficient. Consider how few impressions the very good NXT and 205 Live TV shows make in 2019.

That is because Kenny Omega has set new standards for everything.
