10 Amazing Heel Turns That WWE Immediately Ruined

7. Big Cass

Not so much a heel turn, per se, but more a solidifying of a heel character...

The heel turn of Big Cass actually happened in the aftermath of Extreme Rules in the summer of 2017. Of course, said turn happened after it was revealed Cass had been responsible for several backstage attacks on Enzo Amore. Adding a new aggressive side to the former Colin Cassady's natural size and power, there was a sense of freshness and intrigue to Cass, with genuine potential for him to become a main event heel.

Then the big fella got hurt.

After eight months on the shelf due to a torn ACL, Big Cass returned to screens in April 2018 and doubled down on his villainous act by taking out uber-babyface Daniel Bryan. With that, fans were in no doubt that Cass had returned as a thorough bastard with evil intentions, and tangling with the likes of Bryan and Samoa Joe positioned him as a top tier player.

Unfortunately, WWE took a dump on the momentum the Big Cass vs. Daniel Bryan rivalry was starting to generate. How did they do that? Why, they bafflingly gave Cass the motivation that he hates small people. So much so, he put a beating on a little person on an episode of SmackDown.

With that, fans struggled to take Big Cass seriously and once again were left questioning the taste of WWE.

Due to personal issues, Cass would be released by WWE just two months after he'd returned to TV.
