10 Amazing Wrestling Villains Hidden In Plain Sight
8. A Cameo Teases The Tribal Chief's Incoming Reign Of Dominance
Finally being afforded the opportunity to fully lean into the boos right when there wasn't a single soul in attendance to fire hate at the face of the company, Roman Reigns' heelish return to WWE in August 2020 kicked off one of the most fascinating arcs in modern wrestling history.
But far from being a completely out of left field change-up, though, the 'Tribal Chief' had actually been subtly hinting at this change of attitude before and during his time away from the spotlight.
As the two were initially building towards a clash at WrestleMania 36, a visibly more arrogant and entitled Reigns let Universal Champion Goldberg know that the "b*tch bulldog" was holding his title.
Jump forward a few months, and a cheeky Cameo sent from Fightful founder Jimmy Van to Sean Ross Sapp brought with it yet another hint at the 'Head of the Table' heel turn to come, with a deliciously cocky Reigns claiming that when he does return and destroys everyone, the fans were going to be upset.

Sure enough, that's exactly what went down just a few weeks later - well, the first part at least - as the dominant villain set about conquering both Braun Strowman and Bray Wyatt at Payback, picking up a World title that he's still yet to drop.
