10 Amazing WWE Debut Matches

9. Christian (Judgment Day 1998)

A battle of criminally underrated superstars took place for the Light Heavyweight Championship at Judgement Day 1998, with the champion Taka Michinoku taking on the debuting Christian.

With both men entering the contest as heels (one of whom was a virtual unknown), it was initially difficult for fans to become invested. All that changed when Taka started taking chances with Springboard Planchas and perfect Moonsaults. The two men flew around the ring at a breakneck pace with Christian doing his best to keep up with the champion.

To his credit, Christian performed brilliantly, playing up his moody Brood character perfectly whilst also showing the odd flash of brilliance inside the ropes. The billowing, blonde vampire picked up the win and the championship after reversing a MIchinoku Driver into a roll up.

Christian held on to the belt for a month before losing it to that oh so infamous Cruiswerweight legend...Gillberg.

The Championship aside, Christian's debut was a high paced, high flying contest that unfortunately gets lost in the shuffle of more outrageous matches of the era.

Whilst by no means a classic, it deserves more attention - and with Christian rumoured for the next Hall of Fame class, there is no better time to uncover this forgotten gem.
