10 Angriest Wrestling Crowds Ever
7. Bash At The Beach 1996
Sometimes wrestling fans show their dissatisfaction with what they've just seen by jeering and chanting "boring", or "Roman sucks". Other times - Bash at the Beach 1996, for instance - they do it by throwing their trash into the ring.
This was a fairly common sight at the end of a lot of WCW events, to be fair (which shows just how far we've come in terms of ringside etiquette), but here there was a lot more trash than usual, which either means they were more angry than usual or, possibly, that there was a sale on peanuts that night.
Most of the time, they at least had the decency to wait for the referee's three count, a signal that the planned festivities were basically over. This was different. They absolutely pelted Hogan with crap as he was talking to Mean Gene, during his explanation for what we'd just witnessed.
The reason for all this anger, in case you're an alien with no prior knowledge of wrestling, was that the Hulkster had just turned on WCW, joining up with Outsider duo Hall and Nash in the process, and so beginning the era of the New World Order.
