10 Annoying Things That Wrestling Is Obsessed With

9. ‘Always On’ Titles

The old Hardcore Title was a gas at times. Fans knew they'd get some light comedic relief during Crash Holly's underdog segments, and people fondly remember scenes like Crash fighting with The Headbangers inside a ball pit (for example). That was 20+ years ago though.

WWE's current model is as tedious as they come.

R-Truth's 24/7 Title has been endearing at points, but the joke is stale beyond belief in 2021. How many times can folks be expected to give a toss about Akira Tozawa sneaking up on Truth for a quick win, or some minor celebrity holding the thing for 12 seconds before dropping it back? It's old now.

The indy scene even tried to rekindle that original Hardcore magic with DDT's Ironman Heavymetalweight Championship. That, again, played before short-lived laughter before people yearned for something different. Sadly, if recent events are anything to go by on Raw, WWE aren't quite done with the "wacky and unpredictable" 24/7 gag.
