In theory, wrestling matches can end at any time. That's a thrill known to most MMA-lovers; one punch, one takedown or one submission can bring the curtain down on a fight within seconds. This is something our cherished industry is equally as fascinated by, but the "surprise" element has been dampened.

There are some at WhatCulture HQ who delight in keeping tabs on how many "shocking" roll-up/schoolboy finishes WWE books each week. The numbers are ridiculous. Without exaggeration, you will not see one week of company television pass by without at least a handful of these spots - they're bloody everywhere.

AEW, ROH, Impact and other companies bloody love 'em too.

If a fed wants to beat somebody but protect them (give them an excuse, basically), then they'll have one worker distract as another rolls them up for a win "out of nowhere". This, on SmackDown at least, is typically accompanied by Michael Cole yelling, "Wrestler A steals one".
