10 Annoying Things That Wrestling Is Obsessed With

6. Financial Insecurity

Well-known millionaire Shawn Michaels was so down on his luck during 2009's global recession that he had to become a chef just to pay the bills. That confused old pal Triple H, and it should've baffled the living f*ck out of anybody who had watched HBK headline numerous money-spinning WrestleMania supercards.

He went from raking it in to flipping burgers.

WWE love to kid on that their stars are only one poor financial decision away from destitution. Here's another example: Shane McMahon fined Kevin Owens $100,000 in 2019. That's a lot of money, but there was stifled laughter in the stands when KO was asked to go on TV and suggest that this sum would cause his family to starve.

Claiming that well-paid top wrestling stars will be eating beans for life and won't be able to put their kids through college is laughable. Even so, this is something WWE (especially) seem intent on booking every few years when the old creative think tank is running empty.
