10 Most Anticipated Wrestling Matches Of All-Time (That Actually Happened)

1. Ric Flair vs. Hulk Hogan

Two careers, running almost parallel in different organizations finally clashing. That's what should have happened in 1992, when the WWF had possession of the two hottest wrestling commodities of all time in Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair. One of the most talked about, thought about, and fantasy-booked matchups was between the two undisputed kings of wrestling in the 1980's and early 90's. The showmanship of Hulk Hogan, mastering the cartoonish rock-n-wrestling connection of the WWF, against the technical prowess of Ric Flair, who at that time was already an 8-time world champion. The WWE refused to capitalize on the monstrous opportunity, however, and instead booked the two in opposite bouts for WrestleMania 8. The two would never compete in the WWF against one another until a title bout over a decade later. In 1993, Flair returned to WCW, and Hogan followed over a year later. WCW wasted no time in booking the match in which WCW passed on. At Bash at the Beach 1994, the two squared off, with Hulk Hogan becoming WCW champion in his first match with the company. The two would face off again twice in the following months, with Flair managing one win via countout.
