10 Athletes Destined For Future WWE Careers

10. Tim Wiese

Let's start with someone who is already in the system but is yet to make their main roster WWE debut. Tim Wiese is a former German international football goalkeeper. A man that played at the highest level of the game in Europe for a number of the biggest club sides on the continent. However, the now 33-year-old shocked the world by announcing his retirement from the game last summer after conceding that his best years as a player were firmly behind him. Less than a month after making the announcement, Wiese claimed he had been offered a development contract by the WWE to join their NXT roster at the WWE Performance Center, which of course, he did. Tim appeared as a guest timekeeper at a WWE live event in Frankfurt where it was officially announced that he had put pen to paper with Vince McMahon's organisation. The big German, who has already boasted an incredibly impressive physique on a number of social media platforms, has yet to make his NXT debut. Although, given that he only started wrestling training in October of last year, it is only realistic to think that he could step between the ropes closer to the end of the year or even beyond. An honourable mention to former Port Vale and Burton Albion goalkeeper Stuart Tomlinson here too. The Englishman is set to make his televised debut in NXT later this year after wrestling in a few house shows under the name of Hugo Knox.
