He's a good fried of CM Punk, you know... Chael Sonnen's name has already been pretty strongly linked to a career in WWE for some time now. At the start of this year the rumour mill went into overdrive as The Wrestling Observer newsletter claimed he was locked down into a series of meetings with WWE supremo Kevin Dunn over a move from the octagon to the squared circle. WWE Hall of Famer Gerald Brisco is the man who reportedly setup the meetings as him and Sonnen are friends, but Vince McMahon's former Stooge has yet to confirm these rumours. Sonnen was also alleged to have been offered a trip to WrestleMania 31 at Levi's Stadium by WWE, rumours that only intensified with it becoming more apparent that Ronda Rousey would play some part in the event. It seems that Chael didn't take WWE's offer of a trip to Santa Clara which could indicate an in-ring career is dead in the water. But with the Rowdy one looking set to be a huge part of WrestleMania 32, that could open up the ideal moment for the former 'American Gangsta' to hop aboard the good ship WWE. He is 38 which means the window for him stepping in the ring is potentially a small one. Nevertheless, his skills on the mic are second to non which would see him fit in well and add something to the product that is in pretty short supply today. Imagine if he became the a** kicking advocate of Brock Lesnar... WOW.
