10 Attitude Era WWE Superstars You Totally Don't Remember

Stars like Steve Austin, The Rock, D-Generation X, The Undertaker, Kane, Sable and more lit up WWE's celebrated Attitude Era. The period officially officially kicked off when the new 'scratch' logo was introduced at Survivor Series 1997, and it'd last all the way up until Vince McMahon coined the new "Ruthless Aggression" marketing term in 2002.

McMahon himself had been a key component during the Attitude days. Everyone featured on this list? Yeah, not so much. You won't hear people mentioning these folks in the same breath as Triple H or the New Age Outlaws, put it that way. Some were around way longer than you might think though.

Being fair, not every wrestler was gonna make a splash just because business was hot. Wrestling fans aren't daft - everyone can spot when something sucks, but that doesn't stop creative from persevering. Y'know, just on the off chance a largely-ignored worker suddenly clicks.

Exactly none of these gimmicks could puff out their chests and proudly boast about getting over with crowds. They didn't stand a chance during one of WWE's most vibrant and creative eras.

How many do you remember?

You might remember The Oddities because of their affiliation with Insane Clown Posse. Or, perhaps you recall ex-hard man Kurrgan dancing around in tie-dye and living his best life. Those and John 'Earthquake' Tenta playing Golga are the only things anyone discussing the group ever mentions. Spare a thought for poor Giant Silva.

Who?

Silva was booked as the most imposing member of the faction for a while. The ex-basketball player turned wrestler turned MMA fighter (no, really) soaked up brief acclaim from Attitude Era fans after debuting in 1998. He'd last through until the following year before being released, but did return for a one-off on the old Super Astros show in '99.

He's one monster you never see WWE talk about when waxing lyrical about everyone from Andre and Big Show to Great Khali and even more modern examples like Omos. Silva was a prototypical "friendly giant" - he was a 'Hip Hop Hippo' before Albert.
