10 Attitude Era WWE Tag Teams You Totally Don't Remember

5. The Arabian Butchers

This tandem's most notable run came as the Headhunters in the early '90s. They competed for ECW before the promotion swapped "Eastern" for "Extreme," moonlighted for Mexico's CMLL, and made their way to Japan, taking part in several tours for the IWA and FMW. On top of this, the duo worked a baffling 1996 Royal Rumble appearance as The Squat Team, with Teamer #1 lasting just 1 minute 11 seconds before Vader threw him out, and #2 getting binned after 24.

This Rumble oddity was never really followed up on, but the duo eventually reappeared as the Arabian Butchers on a June 1997 episode of Raw. Managed by Jim Cornette, they jumped Owen Hart and The British Bulldog after a tag victory over The Headbangers. This suggested a push was on the horizon, as Bulldog and Owen were being groomed to face Dude Love and Steve Austin for the vacant Tag Team Titles, but the Butchers were taken off television after their debut angle.

The beatdown went over so poorly with the live crowd that WWE canned the duo's run, though the company did book The Headhunters for a couple of house show appearances later in the decade.
