6. Perfect Wins The Rumble

Curt Hennig was already an excellent wrestler when he signed with WWE in 1988, but the company provided him with the gimmick he needed to take that next step.

Mr. Perfect was born - the man who could do anything and do it, well, perfectly. Unfortunately, the one thing Perfect couldn't do was out-politic Hulk Hogan.

The 1990 Royal Rumble match was the third in the company's history and the second to take place on Pay-Per-View. Without the stipulation of the Rumble winner facing the World Champion at WrestleMania, WWE were a lot more flexible with who they could pick to win the match.

Hennig was reportedly the initial choice for this spot, which would have fit right in with the undefeated streak he was on at the time. However, the Hulkster had other ideas.

Apparently, at the last second, Hogan demanded that he be the winner instead. So, the match ended with Hogan throwing Perfect out of the ring to claim the victory.

A win for Perfect would have done wonders for his stock. Sadly though, his Rumble dreams were choked out by a pair of 24-inch pythons.
