10 Awesome Matches WWE Must Book By The End Of 2017

1. Shinsuke Nakamura Vs. AJ Styles

SmackDown has lost its way in recent months. Plagued by an uninteresting WWE Title scene, crowded women’s division, and paper-thin midcard, the blue brand has lost much of the momentum it built throughout 2016, and could really use a series of knock-down singles match to help end its current slumber.

AJ Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura is easily the most exciting match they could make at the moment. While both will likely be preoccupied over the next few months, they teased a future showdown in a backstage segment a couple of weeks ago, and as two of SD’s most exciting (and popular) all-round performers, there’s no doubt they wouldn’t deliver a Match Of The Year candidate.

Their singles clash at NJPW’s Wrestle Kingdom 10 was an instant classic, and one of 2016’s best bouts. While WWE’s in-ring limitations may prevent them from reaching the same level, they’re both skillful enough to work around the company’s restrictions, and give the fans something truly memorable.

Whether it came at the end of a lengthy feud, or just as a random pay-per-view exhibition matches, WWE would be selling the fans short by not booking Nakamura vs. Styles sometime this year.
