8. The Rock's Decision
Speaking of The Rock's return, let's talk about The Rock's return.
After the Invasion pay-per-view, WWE were on the ropes. Stone Cold had turned his back on the company and taken the WWE Championship across to the dark side. Triple H was on the shelf and The Rock was in Hollywood. (How'd that go?) When it was announced he was returning, there was one big question.
Which side would he chose?
In the final segment of the show, The Rock made his triumphant return - his first appearance since being brutally beaten as the Two Man Power Trip formed over his broken body. It was a point that Shane McMahon brilliantly made, highlighting to The Rock, in front of a shameful Vince McMahon, just how badly he had been treated. Vince pleaded his case then...BOOM! The Rock hit him with a Rock Bottom.
