10 Awesome One-Time WWE Champions
1. Ultimate Warrior
One-time WWE Champion Ultimate Warrior reads like a misprint. How can one of the biggest wrestling stars of all-time - the man who inspired a generation at WrestleMania VI - only have a single world title reign to his name?
The explanation for this is that, while Warrior's peak was incredible, it was also relatively short-lived. It was only a couple of years after his confetti moment in Toronto that he departed WWE under a black cloud and went into semi-retirement.
Happily, his sole title run was a pretty good one. Beginning with victory over Hulk Hogan in April 1990, the future Hall of Famer held the strap nearly a full year before being relieved of his duties by Sgt. Slaughter at the following year's Royal Rumble.
Add to that successful defences against the likes of Rick Rude, Mr. Perfect and Ted DiBiase, and it's inarguable that Warrior is one of the greatest WWE flag-bearers of all-time, whatever his misgivings outside the ring.
