This spot wasnt necessarily exclusive to the ladder match stipulation, but it was a big moment in the match nonetheless. With Kalisto making a move up the ladder, Xavier Woodswhose involvement in the match was supposed to be limited to commentaryleapt into action with his trombone in tow. With no choice to resort to desperate measures, he launched the instrument at Kalisto to hault him in his tracks. The thrown trombone, as Jerry Lawler dubbed it, had maximum impact thanks largely to the fact that Woods uses it as a weapon so rarely. It made for a creative finish to the match that also has the potential to prolong a feud between the New Day and the Lucha Dragons. A job well done if you ask me.
