10 Awesome Tag Teams WWE Completely Ruined

1. The Road Warriors

WWE made three major mistakes when it came to The Road Warriors. Firstly, they put a ventriloquist dummy by their side and forced manager Paul Ellering to pretend 'Rocco' was a source of childish wonder for these huge dudes in face paint and spikes. Secondly, they exploited Hawk's real-life alcohol addiction in 1997-98.

Thirdly, and this is by far the most annoying, somebody believed putting John Heidenreich alongside Animal in 2005 would be a fitting tribute to the then-fallen Hawk. Seriously? Heidenreich? The same guy who hadn't shown any signs of progression since debuting on the WWE roster in 2003? This was spitting on The Road Warriors legacy more than anything.

Renaming the team as 'Legion Of Doom' wasn't a bad idea back in 1990, but WWE made so many gaffs with Hawk and Animal over the years that it was almost like Vince McMahon wanted to ruin their aura for everyone. In the NWA/WCW, these guys had been killers. In the WWF, they were crushed by the weight of unnecessary decisions.
