10 Awesome Things You Don't Remember About WWE's Attitude Era
8. The Stooges
Gerald Brisco is a legendary tag team wrestler who, along with his brother Jack, won over twenty tag team championships over the course of his career. Pat Patterson is a legendary wrestler who has the honour of being the first ever Intercontinental Champion. Together however, these two men will always be affectionately known as The Stooges. While The Corporation ran the show, they brought in Brisco and Patterson to be their bumbling yes men, partly playing off Brisco's role in the Montral Screwjob. They provided some of the best comic relief of the entire Attitude Era, and always provided "Stone Cold" Steve Austin someone to hit with a Stunner when he couldn't get his hands on the boss. Most memorably, Brisco won the WWF Hardcore Championship from a sleeping Crash Holly, and then feuded with Patterson over the belt, resulting in a Hardcore Evening Gown Match where Crash regained his coveted title. These days, the spirit of The Stooges is alive and well, with Joey Mercury and Jamie Noble performing a very similar role to The Authority and giving Dean Ambrose someone to beat up when he can't get his hands on Seth Rollins.
