10 Awesome Things Happening In WWE Right Now

6. Alexa Bliss Is (Still) A Star

The knives are coming out.

While Alexa Bliss is a star, she isn't bulletproof. She was wounded by the totally dire This Is Your Life segment on last week's RAW. She stood no chance because the more game she was, the more it was felt she had faith in the bizarre, patently unfunny material. It was a lose/lose situation. Her Kendo Stick On A Pole match with Bayley was almost as bad. Bayley requested the stipulation. Why couldn't she go through using a weapon when we've seen her smash Sasha Banks into the ring steps and damn near break her hand?

None of this is Alexa's fault, even if WWE stupidly blamed her on television for the colossal failure of that segment. At least it was a tacit acknowledgement of just how bad it was. If WWE had the nous to build a babyface who isn't an embarrassment - or you know, keep a perfectly-cooked act simmering - Bliss might fare better.

Her work in the throwaway match with Nia Jax on this week's RAW again proved that she possesses the intangibles required to get over big. Her facial expressions - abject fear, sly cunning - are unparalleled in WWE. She deserves far more.
