10 Awesome Things Happening In WWE Right Now

7. The Miz Is Still Awesome

The Miz's Intercontinental Title Comeback celebration on RAW was almost as good as his match with Dean Ambrose at Extreme Rules, the expectations for which were as low as the winter sun going in.

That is what The Miz has forged a career on: continually surpassing himself and making a mockery of his detractors. He was going nowhere even as recently as 2015. It was thought that he would become even less relevant as the stars of NXT overshadowed both him and the main roster itself. That isn't happening. You know why?

The celebration was a great, meta send-up of a tired WWE trope. The dancing bear Miz found amusing wasn't the work of Maryse; under the mistaken impression it was Dean Ambrose in disguise, Miz beat it to a pulp. When Maryse's real present arrived, Miz, in full-blown paranoia mode, set about the gigantic cardboard with a steel chair before spearing it and, funnier still, dropping it with two elbows. The conviction of it all put the angle over the top.

It wasn't Ambrose; it was a grandfather clock purchased by his wife to symbolise his timelessness. She wasn't wrong.
