10 Awesome Wrestlers Who Had No Chemistry Together
2. Shawn Michaels And Mr. Perfect
It's been said in the past that Shawn Michaels could have had a good match against anyone, or even worked a well-received bout against an imaginary opponent. Truthfully, the early years of his singles run didn't produce wonderful bouts on tap. Of course, Michaels did have good matches against the likes of Bret Hart, but he also worked some average plodders against Tatanka, Tito Santana and others. In the Summer of 1993, it nonetheless seemed like he was poised to help steal the show at the SummerSlam pay-per-view. Working the WWF Intercontinental Title slot in the mid card, Michaels was facing Mr. Perfect. It'd be easy to imagine that wrestling enthusiasts around the globe were eagerly anticipating an absolute cracker, but they'd be left disappointed. What transpired was a match that didn't really get out of first gear. In fairness, Perfect's back problems had mounted by '93, and Michaels didn't have the level of in-ring confidence he would later display. Still, this one should have been much better than it was. The pair would never get another chance to rectify the situation on a major pay-per-view show.
