10 Awesome Wrestling Insults That Nobody Ever Talks About

7. Jerry Lawler's Old Jokes Are Timeless

Jerry Lawler is much like Vince McMahon: as much as the modern version inspires so much apathy and disgust, re-watching his prime years absolves all problematic sins in about two pop-fuelled minutes.

Pre-puppies Lawler was a delight for all the family, in the PG New Generation Era - except Bret Hart's family, who he verbally massacred on the reg in just incredible scenes. This long-term feud incorporated dentists and assorted other Vince bullsh*t, but Lawler maintained the intrigue by essentially painting Stu and Helen Hart as haunted ghouls he was shocked death hadn't yet embraced.

Much of the material was classic "old people" fare, elevated by Lawler's giddy motormouth - it was as if the cruelty was so divine as to compel him to speak in tongues - but Lawler was on such great form, in a splendid 1993 angle in which he heckled the Harts, that even Vince McMahon corpsed at the commentary booth (time stamped).

Lawler's best line in a non-stop barrage was the perfect heel intersection of points "You're old," "You're probably going to die soon," and "I want you to die."

"Why don't you put your false teeth in backwards and eat yourself to death! Hahahahaha!"
