10 Awesome Wrestling Moves That Nobody Ever Talks About

6. The Undertaker's BETTER Rope Walk

Shaker Heights Spike
WWE Network

The Undertaker's far more famous 'Old School' ropewalk is iconic - and the man himself is so legendary and respected that criticising his best work is sacrosanct - and as such, it obscures the gaping plot hole.

He tends to do the move early in his matches. With the opponent not yet beaten into a pulp, they are somehow still dazed enough to hold 'Taker's hand throughout the slow process. It's an astonishing feat of balance, and a great-looking visual, but it was rarely countered when 'Taker used it as a throwback signature, which is made less believable, since so many of those opponents grew up watching it. Rarely was it countered, which informed the brilliance of CM Punk's WrestleMania 29 performance.

As Mean Mark Callous, 'Taker used that unreal agility to far more logical effect with a ropewalk elbow drop, and the actual ropewalk phase wasn't unnecessary. The giant of a man was a frightening enough proposition; that he was somehow able to do this was essentially a submission hold he didn't need to apply.

Vince McMahon was hesitant to sign this giant of a man in 1990.
