The Viper's punt to the head was one of the most vicious and realistic finishers WWE have had in many years. Orton starting using the punt about five years ago but it hasn't been seen on WWE television for two years because, as Randy Orton informed everyone via Twitter, WWE banned it due to concussion awareness. This shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone after WWE banned several other moves with the risk of causing concussion, such as chair shots to the head (which have no place in wrestling in 2014). WWE fines wrestlers who breach these rules, showing they are serious about the health of the talent. Now, that's not saying that WWE should make an exception for Orton, but the punt can be done safely if timed right. Orton has managed to clock a few people with it in the past (including Vince McMahon himself) but the vast majority of the time Orton simply brushes the side of his opponents faces or misses them entirely. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YRw-b-FjIkI The punt would lose its impact if done every week but, if saved for special occasions like big pay-per-views or heated angles for major feuds, it would be a welcome return to the WWE.
