10 Awesome WWE Gimmicks That Were Dropped Way Too Soon
10. Adam Bomb
Adam Bomb was brought in as a heel monster in the spring of 1993. He was 6'6" and about 300 pounds with an incredible physique. When you saw him he had the look of a guy that was a legitimate badass. He was very intimidating from the first time he appeared with green contact lenses and they would say ridiculous things like how he survived the Three Mile Island nuclear meltdown, which is where he got the name Adam Bomb from in reference to an atom bomb that was used. They brought him out as a heel at first managed by Johnny Polo (Raven), but then Harvey Whippleman was his manager. It was a good fit. Bomb basically squashed jobbers for months before being a part of Survivor Series in 1993. His team lost and at the Royal Rumble he wasn't impressive at all. Then they turned him face due to his losing. What a bad move that was. Once they turned him face he wasn't cool anymore. They had him tossing mini footballs (or rubber nuclear missiles is what they said) out to the fans. What the hell was that? This guy should have been a wrecking machine that nobody beat for a year or longer. Instead, they turned him face in less than a year and then he became a midcard jobber as a face. He actually had a pretty good run as Wrath in WCW too and they tried to make him into a big star, but they never pulled the trigger on him. He was always a guy that I thought had so much potential and didn't live up to it. Maybe it was his fault, but I think the booking played a major part in it too.
