10 Awesome WWE Gimmicks That Were Dropped Way Too Soon

9. Right To Censor

Here's a group that really should have been a lot more successful than they were. WWE created Right To Censor in the summer of 2000 when the Attitude Era was at its peak. They got the name RTC because a group called the Parents Television Council was often times complaining in public (even protesting at times) about the amount of sexual and violent content on WWE programming. While they might have had a good point since WWE did have a lot of violent matches, they used colorful language and there were many times when women were nearly naked, it's not like WWE liked being with them. That's why it was smart to create the RTC, give them annoying theme music (a siren going off) and give them a chance to draw massive heat. The stable was made up of a number of midcarders: Steve Richards was the leader because he's always been a good talker, then they had newcomer Bull Buchanan, then there was former pimp The Godfather as The Goodfather (what a creative name change huh?), porn star character Val Venis was in there and Ivory was the female member of the group. There was also a brief run where The Kat was in there too as punishment. They didn't even last a year as a group. At WrestleMania 17, they lost all their matches and a few weeks later they were destroyed by Undertaker as WWE's way of writing off the group. During their run, they won the Tag Titles once (Buchanan and Goodfather) while Ivory was the Women's Champion too. Once they broke up, none of them went on to have any kind of success after it was over.
