10 Awesome WWE Mark Out Moments

9. "Macho Man" Randy Savage Wins The WWE Championship - WrestleMania IV

During his first two years with World Wrestling Entertainment, Randy Savage established himself as one of the best workers in the entire industry. His ability to tell a story, to construct breathtaking sequences and create drama through furious nearfalls set him apart from nearly every other member of the roster (outside of Ricky Steamboat). There was no one that could deliver the consistently outstanding performances between the ropes, while subsequently serving as one of the larger-than-life stars that Vince McMahon was so closely associated with. One moment, he could cut a rambling promo that captivated audiences and the next, he could back up every word with a five-star performance that ranked among the greatest matches of all-time. That he made such a seamless transition from heel to babyface demonstrated just how much audiences wanted to support the Macho Man. With 1988 approaching rapidly, Savage was slated to regain the Intercontinental Championship from the hated Honky Tonk Man but the titleholder threw a fit and threatened to leave for WCW with the title in his possession. As a consolation prize. McMahon rewarded Savage's hard work and dedication to his craft with a heavyweight title reign that started at WrestleMania IV, when he defeated four top Superstars in a single night to capture the sport's most coveted prize. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jaUsMv0xmgA For the fans who saw Savage as being superior to WWE's franchise player Hulk Hogan, watching the Macho Man celebrate to end the evening, the title in one hand and Miss Elizabeth on his shoulder, it was a moment of sheer ecstasy and one that was met with arms wide open. For an audience growing increasingly smarter to the business, they recognized the greatness of the new champion and were more than happy to applaud his latest success.
