The Undertaker is another who has reinvented himself time and again throughout his WWE career; from the undead mortician that debuted in 1990, to the wild departure that was the American Badass biker character at the turn of the millennium, and of course the supernatural Phenom that we knew during his later career.

In fact, ‘Taker’s had so many returns and reincarnations that it’s difficult to narrow down which return produced the best results. Plus, he also had a handy habit of managing to get better and better with age.

Personally though, I think it would be fair to say that 2004 was the return after which he produced the best work of his iconic career. Resurfacing in dramatic fashion at WrestleMania XX, the Deadman had shed some of his weight from the American Badass days, as well as the motorcycle and biker attire.

In the years that followed, he’d stage some excellent feuds with the likes of Batista and Edge in all manner of matches such as Hell in a Cell, TLC and Last Man Standing affairs. Undoubtedly the best matches of all though were his epic WrestleMania efforts against Shawn Michaels in 2009 and 2010, while there was also the small matter of a certain Streak that he put together.

The Undertaker had put together a brilliant body of work during his early years, but it was his later displays that raised that bar even higher, despite all the mileage he’d put on the clock.
