10 Awesome WWE Tag Teams Formed By Main Eventers
5. D-Generation X
While D-Generation X initially started as a stable during the Attitude Era, the group returned as a tag team in 2006 when it was reformed by founding members Shawn Michaels and Triple H. Both superstars hinted at a reunion in the weeks prior by performing the stable’s signature crotch chop during matches, drawing a thunderous pop each time.
Throughout most of 2006 the duo were involved in a feud with WWE owner Vince McMahon, where they would regularly play practical jokes on the CEO, such as setting off fireworks in the back of the wrestling tycoon's limousine and applying a voice changer to his microphone as he delivered an in-ring promo – much to the delight of the fans. DX later began a feud with WWE Champions Edge and Randy Orton before being forced to disband, due to an injury suffered by Triple H.
However, the tag team incarnation of DX returned for one last run in 2009 when Michaels – now supposedly working as a chef in Texas – was convinced by Triple H to return and reform DX once again, to take on Legacy – a stable consisting of Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes, and Ted Dibiase Jr. They would later go on to defeat Chris Jericho and Big Show for the Unified WWE Tag Team Championship, before disbanding for the final time following the retirement of Shawn Michaels.
