10 Awful Wrestlers Pushed As WWE Main Eventers

2. The Giant Gonzales

Giant Gonzales - the late Jorge Gonzales - was a very, very poor in-ring performer who, like the Great Khali, was only ever able to become a wrestler because of his size. However, when he arrived in what was then the WWF in 1993, he was presented as a legitimate threat to the Deadman himself, the Undertaker. First appearing at January's Royal Rumble, when he interfered in the main event - which he wasn't actually a part of - and eliminated the Phenom, he would go on to face him at two subsequent pay-per-views. First, the two faced-off at WrestleMania in April. Gonzales would lose the match and become part of the Undertaker's 21 match unbeaten streak at the WWE's flagship event, but he was the closest to beating him before Brock Lesnar actually did so, as he was disqualified for using chloroform to render the Undertaker unconscious. Then, they wrestled at August's SummerSlam and Undertaker won again - this time with a pin after a flying clothesline - and he disappeared permanently soon after, when his contract ran out in the October. A brief stint in New Japan Pro Wrestling a year later was the last time he would be seen in a wrestling ring and, sadly, he passed away in 2010.
