10 Awful Wrestlers Pushed As WWE Main Eventers

1. Zeus

Zeus AKA Tom Lister, Jr. was an absolutely terrible wrestler - really, he was as bad as wrestlers come and yet he was presented as a legitimate threat to arguably the greatest superstar in wrestling history, Hulk Hogan himself. Having starred opposite Hogan in the 1989 wrestling movie No Holds Barred, Zeus appeared in what was then the WWF in a feud that was spun-off the film. The angle was that he was jealous of having been billed below Hogan in the movie and, having lost to him on the silver screen, wanted to beat him in "real life". Presented as a brutal monster heel who was quite capable of manhandling Hogan - just like he was in No Holds Barred - he teamed with Hogan's other rival Randy Savage and faced Hogan and his friend Brutus Beefcake at August's SummerSlam. The heels lost to the babyfaces and Zeus would again lose to Hogan at November's Survivor Series, as part of Ted DiBiase's Million Dollar Team, as Hogan's Hulkamaniacs defeated them. Zeus then disappeared from wrestling and only briefly reappeared in 1996 as part of WCW's Alliance to End Hulkamania, when he had the name Z-Gangsta.
