10 Awful Wrestling Matches That Stunk Up Arenas

5. Sid Vicious Vs. The Nightstalker - WCW Clash Of The Champions XIII

Warrior Goldust II
WWE Network

Sid Vicious, as Shawn Michaels once proclaimed, was "the most expensive piece of luggage in WWF history". Bryan "The Nightstalker" Clark, otherwise known as Adam Bomb, was hardly a technical wizard capable of carrying him.

Accordingly, their match wasn't a scientific mat-based thriller. It would have been unrealistic to expect as much.

It might however have been realistic to expect something beyond tests of strength and bear hugs, which the bout almost exclusively consisted of. Towards the finish, Vicious and the Nightstalker unleashed the full extent of their repertoires, which comprised of punches and claw holds (the latter of which was applied with an almost loving tenderness on Sid's part).

Even a legend as vaunted as Jim Ross couldn't conceal what a disaster the match was, in which only one flat back bump was. As Sid, in a case of turnabout is fair play, used Nightstalker's own weapon against him, the beleaguered Oklahoman could only describe it as "a big, club-like thing".

Naturally, the finish was botched. Big Cat Curtis Hughes attempted to interfere on Nightstalker's behalf, but he completely mistimed his arrival, waiting patiently for Sid to take up his place at the turnbuckle before attempting to attack him.
