10 Awful Wrestling Matches That Stunk Up Arenas

4. Vampiro Vs. The KISS Demon - WCW Bash At The Beach 2000

Astonishingly, there was something on the notoriously-awful Bash At The Beach 2000 card just as bad as the main event debacle: Vampiro Vs. Dale "The KISS Demon" Torborg.

With all due respect to KISS, they probably weren't the hippest rock band at the turn of the millennium with which to wage a ratings war against the never-cooler WWF. The KISS Demon was WCW's attempt to cash in on a band that had reached their commercial peak twenty five years prior. Even if he was a marvel between the ropes, Torborg was doomed before he appeared through the curtain.

This match took place, appropriately enough, in a graveyard. It was dead on arrival.

The match - it feels weird even designating it as such - began with the Demon searching for Vampiro with the aid of a fire torch. He looked under the hood of a coffin which, of course, was a diversion. His opponent instead jumped down upon him from a nearby tree. "He's in a tree!" Tony Schiavone confirmed.

"He was in the tree".

Almost mercifully, you could barely determine what's going on. The match was lit only by the referee's torchlight. This, according to Vince Russo, is what fans really wanted to watch, not that boring old 'wrestling' business.

The finishing sequence saw Torborg neck-deep in a nearby lake.

"Is Torborg unconscious in the water? That obviously won't be too good for him", Mark Madden observed.
