Throughout his gripping wars with the mighty John Cena in the mid 2000s, Edge appeared to have mastered the look of unfiltered panic that comes from being locked in 'The Face the Runs the Place's trusty STF.

So, when the then-WWE Champion found himself trapped in a ladder-assisted version of that deadly submission move during the rivals' epic Tables, Ladders, and Chairs contest at Unforgiven 2006, most assumed Edge was once again just selling the hell out of the babyface's offence.

On this occasion, though, no acting was necessary.

According to 'The Rated "R" Superstar' himself when talking in a WWE Untold show about the stars' feud (via Reddit), the added ladder in the situation resulted in Cena accidentally botching the submission and choking out his opponent for real on the night.

All the sleeping challenger could strangely recall was the sound of an alarm and the feeling of being late for an Air Canada flight. In reality, it was Edge himself making that harsh noise as his eyes opened to the sight of the Air Canada Centre logo above him.

Without skipping a beat, however, both men simply moved on with the rest of the match like nothing had happened, fooling pretty much everyone watching on into thinking this was all simply part of the planned out main event.
