10 B-Team WWE Tag Team Champions
7. Chief Morley & Lance Storm
Attitude Era pornstar Val Venis underwent several image changes throughout his WWE career, with the first coming when he was absorbed into the Right to Censor by Stevie Richards in 2000. Shades of his old gimmick returned with The Big Valbowski in early 2002, but he became Sean Morley, Chief Of Staff, in November, effectively operating as Eric Bischoff's goon on SmackDown.
An odd change of direction, it gave the former Venis another opportunity to reinvent himself as a post-Attitude TV performer, but didn't quite pay off. His worst moment came in March 2003. An illness-stricken William Regal was forced to vacate his half of the Tag Team Championships, and Morley, in a classic WWE authority figure power move, decided to award himself the gold by stepping in as Lance Storm's partner.
The silver lining is that Morley and Storm's reign lasted just seven days. Defending the belts in a three-way elimination bout one week after making himself a champion, Morley took the decisive pinfall to Rob Van Dam, starting the former ECW man's reign with Kane. This meant the Chief at least served a purpose as Regal's replacement, but he was a literal substitute, making him and Storm the epitome of a B-team.
