10 B-Team WWE Tag Team Champions
6. Ric Flair & Roddy Piper
The idea of Roddy Piper and Ric Flair somehow becoming WWE Tag Team Champions in their respective pomps sounds great. They're two of the most effective heels of all time, and though they spent most of their prime years working for different companies, they'd have likely found a way to mesh their divergent personalities into a cohesive tag unit had they come together.
Unfortunately, Piper and Flair's eventual title run came when they were 57 and 52 years old respectively. Booked together in 2006, they overcame The Spirit Squad to take their World Tag Team Champions at the Cyber Sunday pay-per-view, all in the name of nostalgia. A fun moment for the dads in attendance, but not at all what the belts needed to rebound from the misery of the cheerleading group's 216-day run on top.
The good news is that it was no more than a transitional reign, with Piper and Flair only taking the gold so that WWE could pass it on to Rated RKO eight days later. This makes their run palatable, and it did mean the end of the God-awful Spirit Squad as champs.
