4. The Headbangers

The Headbangers were dumb, even by the Attitude Era's crass standards. A couple of bald rockers decked out in sleeveless shirts, wacky fluffy cone bras, zany skirts, and white underpants painted with hilarious brown sh*t stains. Somehow, this was still a step forward from their early days as the Flying Nuns, or, of course, the brief period Mosh would spend as the incestuous Beaver Cleavage in 1999.

They were an oddball preliminary act who should never have come within sniffing distance of championship gold, but still grabbed the WWE Tag Team Titles at Ground Zero: In Your House in September 1997. Overcoming The Godwinns, Legion of Doom, and the British Bulldog/Owen Hart combo in an elimination bout, they held the belts for just four weeks, then fortunately never touched them again, sliding all the way back down the card.

Attitude's chaotic booking meant countless wrestlers were afforded similar opportunities throughout the late '90s, and Mosh and Thrasher weren't much worse than The Godwinns. That doesn't make their elevation any more palatable, though. It was just as pointless as an odd 2016 comeback that saw the duo wrestle Heather Slater and Rhyno in August, then The Usos in November.
