10 Backstage Stories About Seth Rollins You Should Know
1. Getting The Curb Stomp Unbanned
The WWE superstars might have a plethora of moves in their arsenal to showcase during their matches, but the company does not permit them to do certain maneuvers that might cause severe damage to the recipients. WWE banned wrestlers from performing moves like the Diving Headbutt and the classic Piledriver over concerns of them being too dangerous, and the company added Seth Rollins' Curb Stomp to that list in 2015.
However, there was more to the story as Vince McMahon decided to ban the move after seeing a video package of Seth Rollins using the move on The Today Show, as he didn't like how it made the company's World champion look too cruel. Another reason behind the ban was the concern over kids replicating the move, as a single mishap could cause serious injury to anyone.
After the ban, Rollins experimented with the High Knee, a variation of the Underhook DDT, and The Pedigree as his finishers until he convinced Vince McMahon to let him use the Curb Stomp again in 2018. Rollins revealed in an interview that he explained to McMahon that bringing back The Curb Stomp would be ideal in a way he could understand, which resulted in him using the move in a match against Finn Balor on the 15 February 2018 episode of Raw.
