3. The Sandman
Before anyone was introduced to "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, ECW had their own foul-mouthed, beer-drinking, hell-raising son of a bitch in The Sandman. He would come to the ring as Metallica's "Enter Sandman" would blare through the arena, with the ECW faithful loudly singing along to every word. On his way to the ring, through the crowd, he would crack open beers and light cigarettes, chugging and smoking the entire way. Once finished with his beer, he would take the can and smash it against his forehead, crumpling the can and busting himself open. Again, this was all before he even got to the ring for a match. It was a sight to behold, and one of the cooler entrances the wrestling business has ever seen. Unfortunately, he was a total dumpster fire in the ring. He was yet another brawler in ECW, but he was usually so hammered during his matches that he could barely punch and kick properly, let alone pull off wrestling moves. As is usually the case with "their guys", ECW fans will defend Sandman to the death, no matter what anyone says about him or his in-ring work, so tread lightly if you have a discussion with one of them and the conversation turns to skills.
