6. Vince McMahon Fronts TKO

At the beginning of WrestleMania 40, Stephanie McMahon announced that WWE was about to embark on a new era: The Paul Levesque Era.

Which was weird, since he had controlled the book since the summer of 2022. Or had he?

Vince McMahon voluntarily resigned from WWE on July 22, 2022 amid reporting of sexual misconduct by the Wall Street Journal. The man who always said that he’d work forever because it wasn’t a job to him retired from his job, at which he worked. Hmmm.

On December 27 - after Vince had signalled his intention to return to WWE in order to explore a sale for the maximum benefit of the shareholders - the WWE Board responded by stating that each member of the Board (which included Paul Levesque) was “unanimous” in disagreeing.

Vince still returned, using his controlling vote, on January 5, 2023. Stephanie McMahon, a day later, said it was an “exciting time” when communicating the change to staff. She couldn’t have been that excited, since she resigned four days later.

On April 23, the announcement happened: WWE and UFC were to merge under the TKO name and the Endeavor umbrella. Vince, with his printer ink dye-job, was back as the media-facing head boy of the operation.

That was until January 26, 2024, when - after it emerged one day earlier that Janel Grant had filed a lawsuit in Connecticut federal court against Vince, John Laurinaitis and WWE as an entity, claiming, amongst other horrific crimes, that she was the victim of sex trafficking - Vince resigned again.

WWE don’t want you to see this picture of Vince because it punctures the image that WWE became the good guy outfit, and that Levesque is the saviour who brought the good times back.

He helped bring Vince back!
