10 Behind The Scenes Stories About Kevin Owens You Should Know
8. Brock Lesnar Once Refused To Work With Kevin Owens
When a wrestler reaches a certain level of star power, they value increases within the promotion, and they can expect a surge in monetary benefits, backstage influence, and creative freedom. Multiply that by 10, and that's the amount of power Brock Lesnar had throughout his second run with WWE - and that's why he refused to work with certain wrestlers in the company, including the likes of Bray Wyatt, Jinder Mahal, and Kevin Owens.
Lesnar is all for business, but he is known for straight out refusing to work with certain wrestlers if he didn't see the value in it, and that's how he reportedly felt when WWE presented him with the choice of working with Owens. WWE's VP of Live Events and Hall of Famer, Road Dogg, revealed this information while talking on his podcast.
While he didn't share many details about when Lesnar had refused to work with Owens, the timeline matches with WrestleMania 32. Owens had expressed his wish to face Brock Lesnar at the event and people also started speculating about the possibility, but everything went quiet after a while, as WWE ended up booking Lesnar to face Dean Ambrose, and Owens competed in the 7-way Intercontinental Championship ladder match.
However, the two superstars did have a singles match at a house show in March 2017 and then competed in the WWE Championship fatal-5-way match at the 2022 Day 1 event.
