10 Behind The Scenes Stories About Kevin Owens You Should Know
9. Paul Heyman Advised Owens To Threaten To Quit WWE For Getting Left Out Of WrestleMania 35
The Big-4 PPVs are some of the most significant nights in WWE for the wrestlers, with WrestleMania being the biggest of them all. Competing at WrestleMania is a great addition to a wrestler's resume, and they work very hard throughout the year to make the card for the Grandest Stage of Them All.
However, not everyone makes the final cut, as some superstars have to settle for being mere spectators. But the fans never expected Kevin Owens to be in that position, as WWE excluded him from the WrestleMania 35 card. Owens competed in high-profile matches in the previous three editions, but WWE had to leave him out in 2019.
WWE reportedly considered Owens for the WWE Championship match against Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 35. But since KofiMania took the company by storm, WWE had to go with Kofi Kingston and couldn't find a spot for Owens on the card.
The Prizefighter was not a fan of this decision, and when he talked to Paul Heyman about being left off the show, The Hall of Famer reportedly told him to threaten to quit the company if he wasn't included in the event. However, Owens didn't go with Heyman's advice and decided to take the L and sit it out that year, which turned out to be the right decision as he went on to compete in all the WrestleMania's after that and even headlined the first nights of WrestleMania 38 & 39.
